Why We Love The Honest Company

Lifestyle

Happy Friday, y’all!

I’m sharing why we love The Honest Company with you today! Specifically speaking, diapers. We have been using Honest diapers since Sophia was born, and we LOVE them! Sophia loves them so much she likes to lay on the floor in a pile of them and take a nap, haha! By the time I was done taking pictures of her, she had all the diapers strewn across the floor…

We love our Honest diapers for many reasons.

Reason # 1: I generally love all of the Honest Company products because they are made without any synthetic products and without chemicals. The diapers specifically are made without the chemicals other diaper brands have that cause hormone and growth issues, not to mention cause rashes in the diaper area. So with Honest, we are safe from all harmful effects! And they are hypoallergenic, very absorbent and fit nicely to prevent any leaking.

Reason # 2: They have super fun prints! And they have new prints for every season! I always get excited to see the new prints, and they just released the new fall season prints available for bundles! We also get to have a say in what prints are released! How cool is that?!

Reason # 3: BUNDLES! You can save a lot of money by bundling your diapers (they also have an essentials bundle, organic infant formula bundle, and a health and wellness bundle). With the diaper bundle, you receive 6 packs of diapers and 4 packs of wipes, and a really awesome thing about the diaper bundle is you can add up to 3 extra items, ANY item, and receive 25% off each item! I like to add the training pants/pull-ups to our bundle since we are slowly, but surely working on potty training. Also, with the bundle, you get them shipped to your house for free however often you want them! We get ours shipped every 4 weeks, and if we feel we have too many diapers, we can skip a shipment!

Reason # 4: They have GREAT customer service! Any time I’ve had an issue or any questions, they have helped me in every way and more without any problems and without bad attitude. If there is one thing I cannot stand, it’s someone with a bad attitude. It puts me in a very bad mood, and makes it very frustrating for me when I am trying to get an issue solved. But the Honest Company has stood true their great customer service since we’ve used them.

Reason # 5: They are always on top of things, and taking care of business!

Side note: We use The Honest Company cleaning products in our house as well. The cleaning products are awesome! They smell great, and they really get the job done. And they are safe to use around children and pets since they are made naturally, and chemical free.

Thank you, Honest Co. for making our lives so much better and much more fun!

P.S. Go get your bundles and snag the new fall prints! You can receive $20 off your first bundle when you order now! Link: The Honest Company

PetSmart Finds

Lifestyle

As most of you know, I love animals. Especially my pups and kitty at home. So when it comes to taking care of them, I like to give them the best! I LOVE buying them fun toys to play with and when I found these ADORABLE toys at PetSmart, I knew I had to buy them! They are the ED by Ellen DeGeneres toys, and you can find them online or in store. I love the Ellen D. toys because they are super fun for Charlie and Charm. The ones I purchased have squeakers, which my pups literally go crazy over. The way she designed them has a cute and fun air about them. She and PetSmart launched the line early this year, and are planning to release more for fall and the holidays! I can’t wait to see what she has coming! She also just launched products for cats!

Also, I like to get the KONG squeaker balls for my dogs. They are pretty durable, unless you have dogs like mine that destroy everything immediately, but they are still great throwing in the yard or at the park. I mostly love them because they have the squeaker, and like I said before, they go crazy over squeaks so it catches their attention!

As for treats, I like to buy them the MilkBone large dog biscuits. They are great for their teeth, and my dogs think they taste good. I mean, obviously. Any time they hear the word treat, they look at me like, “What did you just say?”, with their tails wagging vigorously.

If you have pets, I definitely recommend these items and shopping for them at PetSmart! PetSmart has some good discounts going on now too! If you shop online now, you can receive 15% OFF of certain items, and August 21st-23th, you can receive $30 off your purchase of over $100 (online only)! Follow this link to start shopping. You will also find the links for each item below the pictures.

Day at the Dog Park

Lifestyle

Good afternoon, Loves!

Today, we decided to spend some time at the dog park. Charlie and Charm were both getting restless at home and were in desperate need of outdoor playtime. I like to take them to a dog park called Tom Slick Park because they have a dog play area, walking trails, and a lake for the dogs to swim in. My dogs LOVE the lake. Especially on hot summer days like today. We were there for quite a while running (and swimming) around. Sophia and I even put our feet in the water to cool off. Not long after we got there, a few other dogs showed up. It was a lot of fun for all of them! If you live in San Antonio and have dogs, you should go to this park! It will wear them out for sure!

I hope you all are having a great Thursday! Thank you for stopping by!

4th of July Recipe Inspo

Lifestyle

Good afternoon, Lovelies!

The 4th of July is coming up next week! Can you believe it?! I can’t wait! I’m not sure what our plans are yet, but I hope it involves swimming, friends and family, good food and of course FIREWORKS! I know for sure we will be seeing fireworks in the evening. That’s the best part of celebrating our country’s birthday! What will all of you be doing to celebrate the 4th of July? I would love to hear what y’all will be up to and what traditions you typically have or if you plan to start new traditions!

Speaking of good food, I wanted to share a few recipes and some other food ideas that I thought would be great for celebrating the 4th of July. I have been using this website called Gathered Table to get my recipes from for some time now and I have really been enjoying it! They have great recipes to choose from in a bunch of different categories. I found these two recipes I am sharing from there, and if you try them, you’ll have to let me know if you like them!

Chipotle-Lime Grilled Chicken

Grilled Mexican Street Corn

This recipe is my favorite! I’ve never tasted corn so good! And I’ll bet you haven’t either!

Watermelon!

And lastly, you can’t go wrong with some good, juicy watermelon! You can just slice it up and serve it OR you can zing it up a bit and squirt some lime juice on it! It’s so good that way! You might as well since both recipes above call for limes!

Wildlife Father’s Day

Lifestyle

Hi guys! Happy Monday!

So, of course everyone knows yesterday was Father’s Day. We decided to spend our Sunday as a family at the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch here in San Antonio. We went to church in the morning, came home for naps, and since Sophia had been relentlessly asking to see the giraffes since Saturday, David and I took her to go see them! It was a fun time for all of us. Sophia is a huge animal lover (thank goodness for that since her momma is too!), so anywhere there are animals, she is exploding with excitement and yells at the top of her lungs the names of the animals, haha! I am so in love with the fact that she loves animals so much. It makes this animal lover momma a happy momma! And even though David is NOT a big animal lover, he still had a lot of fun. We got to see the Giraffes (of course), Rhinos, Wildebeests, Camels, Buffalo, Longhorns and many more. Enjoy the pics below! You can also visit the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch on their website to check out the cool things they have, and if you’re ever in San Antonio, I highly recommend visiting those precious animals!

Mother’s Day @ Mustang Island

Lifestyle, Personal

Hello Loves!

I hope all you mommas had a wonderful Mother’s Day! Being a momma has taught me a great many things, but most of all it has really opened my eyes to see the love that my momma has for me and the hard times she went through raising her kids! It is the most challenging job, but the most rewarding job there is! My little love has a full heart of love to give and I feel it every single day. There have been nights where I’ve put Sophia down for bed and I already miss talking to her and snuggling with her, and can’t wait til’ the next day to see her bright and beautiful smile and feel her gigantic, warm hugs! Being a momma is seriously the best job anyone could ever have!

We spent our Mother’s Day going to church in the morning and then David, Sophia, Charlie and I hit the road to the beach to spend the afternoon there as my Mother’s Day treat. Oh, how fun it was! The memories of Sunday, May 14th, 2017 will be some I will never forget! Sophia had the time of her life digging in the sand, holding my hand as we ran into the waves, looking for shells and playing with Charlie. We even got Charlie to get in the water with us a few times (he doesn’t like water AT ALL)! And we all worked together to build a sand castle made from a heart-shaped bucket. It was all so fun, but the most fun for me was watching Sophia enjoy herself. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend Mother’s Day. My honey is the best!

Love you all!

xoxo, K

Small Town Carnival

Lifestyle, Personal, Sophia

Hey guys!

We had quite a busy weekend this weekend! My sister was visiting with her three babies from out of town, we had a small get together to celebrate having a new home, and Sophia and I had the opportunity to attend the small carnival here in town with my best friend and her son who is Sophia’s age.

We just moved to this little town just outside of San Antonio, and every year they put on a carnival. It was a lot of fun! Especially for Sophia! She got to ride a couple of ponies, pet a kangaroo, porcupine and prairie dog, and she got to ride a few rides! Oh, and she didn’t like the snake much..she didn’t really want to pet many of the animals. She just liked to look. But we will definitely be going again next year and spending a little more time there.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! And I hope your week is even better!

xoxo, K

Zoo Fun

Lifestyle

Happy Thursday!

Yesterday was such a fun day for us! Sophia had her swim lesson, we came home to nap, and then we left for the ZOO! We hadn’t been in a while and David wanted to do something fun. So we decided to take Sophia to see all the fun animals. She had the time of her life! She was especially excited about the elephants. She ended up bringing one home with her 😉

We all had so much fun at the zoo, and we plan on going again soon. There’s a lot to see here at our local zoo and a lot of fun things to do. We went a little late this time, so we didn’t get to see and do everything we wanted to do. But that’s why we plan on gong again soon! Maybe next time we can get some of Sophia’s to tag along 🙂

xoxo, K

Spring Dresses

Fashion, Lifestyle

For Easter, I picked white dresses for me and Sophia to wear and just added a pastel colored accessory. For myself, I added a pair of blue, ankle-wrap wedges, and I paired Sophia’s dress with her favorite “pink shoes”, as she calls them, and a pink, bunny ears headband.

I love this dress I wore! I love the floral embroidered detail and my favorite part of the dress is the bell sleeves! It’s a big trend right now. I love it! It’s so feminine and playful, and chic at the same. The fit & flare style makes it cute and fun, and it’s perfect for Spring time. And since it’s white, you can have fun with it and pair it with ANY color!

Sophia’s dress is actually one she got from her Auntie Emmy for her birthday. I had picked a completely different dress for her, but decided to go with this one because it paired better with her bunny ears. She looked so pretty in her eyelet dress and her bunny ears.

Easter 2017

Lifestyle, Sophia

I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter this year!

I had so much fun this Easter coloring and decorating eggs with Sophia, doing an Easter egg hunt with all the kids and just spending time with family. I had the most fun, though, watching Sophia get so excited about it all. Now that she’s older and understands more and can enjoy things more, her personality really comes out and it is so much fun to see! She’s such a bright and spunky little thing.

I know I probably should have posted the Easter crafts BEFORE Easter, but I am sharing them with you today, and maybe you can save the ideas for next year.

I was watching the Today Show one day before Easter and they were showing different ways to decorate eggs for, and one of them was using rubber stamps and just stamping it onto the eggs. I thought that was such a neat and easy idea, so we did that (I just found some Spring themed rubber stamps at Hobby Lobby), and then we did the traditional egg coloring. Sophia had a lot of fun with that. We now have more than two dozen hard-boiled eggs to eat… It was worth it though. I love getting Sophia involved in doing things like that now that she’s old enough. And we had some fun in between 😉
